Use your degree and become a leader in your field
If you already have a degree, you can advance your current profession and apply your tertiary qualifications part time as a Graduate Reserve.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those who already have a recognised degree.

You'll be paid to train and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you’ll earn a tax-free daily rate of at least:

The pay you receive in the Navy Reserve goes straight into your pocket with no deductions for tax.

As a part-time Chaplain in the Navy, you‘ll attend to the pastoral and spiritual needs of Navy’s members, providing them with the opportunity and facilities to practice their religion. You’ll be person-centred, have a deep appreciation of human spirituality, work with others in ways that are meaningful to them and understand and respect Australia’s cultural diversity.

You’ll enter the Navy as an ordained minister / religious leader of your faith group. You’ll work in a team with chaplains from other faith groups (including secular groups) to provide pastoral counselling and spiritual support to Navy members and their families both at sea and ashore. 

As an officer you’ll also adopt an important leadership and mentoring role. You’ll have insight into matters concerning Defence personnel and stand in a unique position to offer alternative points of view and provide guidance to command.
