You may be posted to any Air Force base within Australia. 

There are opportunities to post to a Joint base at Port Wakefield (South Australia) or an Army base near the town of Wodonga. You can expect to consistently spend periods of time away from home each year, depending on the types of training, exercises and deployments you take part in.

You will be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

In the Air Force you'll get paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications; and your pay increases as you progress through training. In addition to your salary you'll receive a variety of allowances, extra pay for relevant qualifications – plus 16.4% superannuation, a far higher rate than you're likely to find in the civilian world.

General Entry: Non-Technical

Throughout your career, you'll complete additional training and participate in a range of activities and military exercises to ensure you can work in a range of environments, prepared for a wide range of patient types and work throughout the continuum of care.

Medics (Medical Technicians [MEDTECH]) work remotely or as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team to provide medical support to a range of domestic, regional and global operations. 
As a medic, you'll work in health centres on our Air Force bases, mobile treatment facilities when deployed, ADF aircraft when evacuating casualties or occasionally within civilian hospitals. You'll work alongside other registered health practitioners with varying levels of supervision, to ensure that ADF personnel and civilians have an appropriate level of health care when needed. 
Medics contribute to the following Air and Space Power in the following ways:
<ul>
 <li>contribute to aeromedical evacuation, both intra-theatre and inter-theatre aeromedical evacuation.</li>
 <li>contribute to permanent airbase health operations, expeditionary airbase establishment and operations, and non-air-base health support.</li>
 <li>contribute to joint personnel recovery, ADF training, capability management and capability development.</li>
</ul>
As a medic, you will play a part in promoting health and well-being, treating injury and illness and performing on-going care and support to patients during recovery.
