Whether you’re on base, on an operation or at sea, the work you do may be comparable to a civilian role, or it could be completely unique to the ADF. Either way, it’ll be more interesting and varied, and could involve travel and impactful experiences such as helping communities in need.

Work full-time or choose a flexible option such as the ability to work from home, work from another location, or pending approval, part-time work. Plus, you can make a difference and challenge yourself with a flexible role in the Reserves.

You’ll likely work standard eight-hour days with plenty of time for your family and social life when you’re not participating in exercises or deployments. You’ll also get 5 weeks of annual leave, and you could receive travel benefits if you live remotely or deploy on a long-term overseas deployment. ADF bases are well equipped with pools, gyms, sports halls and pitches. You’ll be paid to keep fit, and you’ll have an amazing number of adventure activities and team sports to choose from. Imagine representing the Navy, Army or Air Force in your favourite sport.
