Join without qualifications
There are many excellent career options in the ADF that generally don&rsquo;t require experience or qualifications. You&rsquo;ll receive all the training you need and be paid while you train.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those seeking general roles and career opportunities.

You'll be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

In the Air Force you'll be paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications.

General Entry: Non-technical

You may take further courses in areas such as:

 <li>aircraft security operations</li>
 <li>close personal protection operator</li>
 <li>protective security</li>
 <li>security inquiries and management</li>
 <li>Military Working Dog Handler (MWDH)</li>
 <li>weapons instructor</li>
 <li>Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence&nbsp;</li>
 <li>security risk management and planning</li>
 <li>security operations and emergency management.</li>
</ul>

As Air Force Security, you'll contribute to a secure and safe operating environment, protecting Air Force personnel, aircraft, infrastructure and classified information, domestically and overseas. The security requirement is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, therefore members of the Air Force Security role are rostered on rotating shifts.

You'll undertake a variety of critical-security functions in support of air operations, protecting against threats within Australia and deployed operations.
As you gain skills and experience, you may have opportunities to diversify your security career. This role is the pathway to apply for other security roles, including:
<ul>
 <li>Military Working Dog Handler (MWDH) &ndash; As a MWDH, you&rsquo;ll undertake security tasks utilising the abilities of the Military Working Dog (MWD) such as detecting, sensing and challenging/apprehending intruders. This role may include working with both patrol dogs and explosive detector dogs.</li>
 <li>Airfield Defence Guard (ADG) &ndash; As an ADG, you&rsquo;ll be responsible for the security of aircraft, infrastructure and personnel on bases across Australia and overseas. You&rsquo;ll protect Air Force assets from ground attacks in both peacetime and on operations, handling weaponry and all-terrain vehicles in challenging and potentially hostile conditions.</li>
</ul>
