<p>You may be posted to any Air Force Base or Defence establishment within Australia, with some opportunity for overseas postings and deployment.</p>

You will be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

In the Air Force you'll get paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications; and your pay increases as you progress through training.<br><br>In addition to your salary you'll receive a variety of allowances, extra pay for relevant qualifications – plus 16.4% superannuation, a far higher rate than you're likely to find in the civilian world.

General Entry: Non-Technical

<p>You&rsquo;ll never stop learning in the Air Force, and you&rsquo;ll have opportunities to develop, learn and broaden your horizons as your career progresses. </p>
<p>In addition to specific Air Force and Aviation Logistics Specialist training, you will also have access to a range of opportunities for support to undertake further tertiary education and other professional development studies, via the Defence Assisted Study Scheme (DASS). </p>
<p>Aviation Logistics Specialists also have access to the Logistics Professional Development Program (LPDP). The program enables members of the Air Force Logistics Employment Group (which also includes Chef, Warehouse Storeperson and Logistics Manager) to develop and broaden logistics knowledge, and to keep aware of developments across the logistics industry sector. The program aims to do this by supporting you to undertake further logistics-related education, to attend industry seminars and/or conferences, and to maintain memberships of approved professional associations.

<p>As a member of the Aviation Logistics Specialist (Movements) mustering, you&rsquo;ll work as part of a team to provide critical airfield services to support a range of ADF activities, such as humanitarian and disaster relief missions, conflict operations, and multinational exercises. </p>
<div class="p"><strong>What you'll do</strong></div>
<p>No two days will be the same in this dynamic role, as you undertake a range of Aviation Logistics Specialist tasks, including: </p>
<div class="p"><strong>Conducting air terminal operations to support military and commercial-type aircraft, including:</strong></div>
<ul>
    <li> Processing, briefing and coordinating passengers</li>
    <li>Preparing and consolidating cargo (inclusive of explosives and other dangerous goods) </li>
    <li>Planning and documenting aircraft loads, including making calculations </li>
    <li> Configuring and then loading/unloading aircraft</li>
    <li>Providing airfield ramp services, including coordinating airfield parking, marshalling aircraft, and providing ground power.</li>
</ul>
<div class="p"><strong>Refuelling a range of ADF and visiting aircraft, including:</strong></div>
<ul>
    <li> Driving aircraft refuelling vehicles, and operating onboard hoses, pumps and measuring systems </li>
    <li> Coordinating refuelling requirements with aircrew and technical staff</li>
    <li> Replenishing aircraft refuelling vehicles after use</li>
    <li> Testing aviation fuel to ensure that it meets quality standards.</li>
</ul>
<div class="p"><strong>Planning, controlling, and reporting on the movement of people and cargo, including:</strong></div>
<ul>
    <li> To, from and within operations, exercises, and other activities, via road, rail, sea and air routes</li>
    <li> Working with members of the Royal Australian Navy and Australian Army, and in coordination with our international military partners. </li>
</ul>
<div class="p"><strong>Operating specialist material handling equipment, including:</strong></div>
<ul>
    <li> Forklifts and aircraft loaders</li>
    <li> Other machinery, such as aircraft ground power units.</li>
</ul>
<div class="p"><strong>Other duties, including:</strong></div>
<ul>
    <li> Managing vehicle fleets and driving standard and special purpose vehicles</li>
    <li> Providing training and mentoring to other Aviation Logistics Specialists, once you have achieved the required levels of knowledge, skill and seniority. </li>
</ul>
<p>You may also get the opportunity to travel (as part of a team) to undertake tasks from other locations within Australia and/or overseas. </p>
