Challenge yourself with a one-year commitment
Develop your skills and take time to think about your future career direction by spending a memorable year in the ADF.
Who it&rsquo;s for: 17-24 year olds wanting a 12-month taste of life in the ADF.

You'll be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

Working in Aviation Operations during your Gap Year, you’ll be embedded in a flying squadron operations room where you’ll be supporting the team providing specialist air planning and coordination support to aircrew.

If you enjoy multi-tasking, have great attention to detail and are an excellent communicator, this could be a great option for you. You'll develop your aviation knowledge and understanding of Air Force operations as well as learning how crews work together to achieve objectives.

Work in an Air Force flying squadron operations room and learn about aviation roles while enjoying a fulfilling 12-month taste of life in the Air Force.
