Join without qualifications
There are many excellent career options in the ADF that generally don&rsquo;t require experience or qualifications. You&rsquo;ll receive all the training you need and be paid while you train.

You'll be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

In the Air Force you'll be paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications.

General Entry: Non-technical

You’ll have clear routes for career advancement and promotion, along with ongoing training. Courses such as Professional Military Education Training (Promotion Courses), Airborne Instructional Technique and Work Place Assessor may be offered based on your performance. 

On completion of an initial flying tour, you’ll be posted to a designated ground position for a minimum of 3 years to develop further skills and broaden your experience as a Senior Loadmaster. You’ll be posted into ground positions after each flying tour.

As a Loadmaster, you’ll take command of Air Force personnel, managing the safe loading of high-tech military transport aircraft such as the C-17A Globemaster, C-130J Hercules and C-27J Spartan.

You’ll supervise the loading and unloading of cargo, vehicles and people on a variety of aircraft as well as calculating payload configurations in challenging environments. Your ability to keep a cool head is important as many missions simply cannot begin until you have completed your duties successfully. 
 
As an aircraft crew member, you’ll also assist with threat detection, search and rescue missions, and other operational needs, ranging from combat support to disaster relief.

Take charge of aircraft cargo loading, weight distribution, monitoring   and the safe delivery by runway or parachute of equipment, supplies, fuel, vehicles and personnel.
