Earn a fully funded degree
Originating from a unique partnership between the ADF and the University of New South Wales (UNSW), ADFA offers world-class education plus cutting-edge military and leadership training at our Canberra campus. In addition to being expertly trained in the art of leadership and management, you'll undertake a degree in Arts, Business, Science, Engineering or Computing.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those wanting a fully funded world-class degree from the University of New South Wales (UNSW). You&rsquo;ll earn a salary while you study and graduate HELP-debt-free.

Officer Entry: Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA)

You'll be paid while you study. On completion of your degree, Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you'll earn at least:

In the Air Force you'll be paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications.

Officer Entry: ADFA

Many logistics positions are of a specialist nature. To prepare you, the Air Force will provide appropriate training, usually conducted at Air Force schools in different locations. Courses are provided in explosives, catering, movements and transportation and dangerous goods handling, project and integrated logistics support management and joint logistics operations. In addition, enhancement courses are available at later stages of your job, and attendance at professional seminars and conferences is both encouraged and supported. As you progress in rank (Flight Lieutenant and beyond), your duties, training and job development will tend to place a greater emphasis on logistics functions rather than purely supply aspects.
Postgraduate Education
As an Officer, you&rsquo;ll be encouraged to continue your professional development. The Logistics Professional Development Program (LPDP) provides you with professional development opportunities via logistics or business-related formal education. The program allows you to develop and broaden your logistics knowledge, and to also keep abreast of continuing changes within the industry.

Become an officer
You can choose to become an officer in the Navy, Army or Air Force via Direct Entry and have your training paid for while also getting paid. As long as you&rsquo;re a school leaver who has passed year 12, you can head straight into officer training with the ADF service of your choice.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Year 12 graduates or qualified professionals.

Have your current studies sponsored
As an undergraduate studying for a role-relevant degree at an accredited university of your choice, you can join the ADF via Defence University Sponsorship (DUS). This means you&rsquo;ll have your fees paid for, earn a salary while you complete your degree, and walk straight into a great ADF role following graduation.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those already studying a relevant degree (or in some cases, those who have accepted an offer) at an Australian university. You&rsquo;ll earn a salary while you study and have the remainder of your university fees paid in return for a commitment to an officer role.

As a Logistics Officer, you&rsquo;ll be a creative problem solver for the Air Force that plans, establishes, coordinates, maintains and manages logistical support across the entire supply chain.
Far more than just ensuring integral supplies get from A to B, you&rsquo;ll contribute to the Air Force on both a tactical and strategic level, and you&rsquo;ll ensure the successful acquisition, storage and distribution of supplies, advanced technology, and sensitive materials.

While your responsibilities will depend on which logistics function role you&rsquo;re posted to, they may include: 
<ul>
 <li>supply chain and materiel management operations &ndash; to enable and sustain the warfighting capabilities of Air Force on the ground and in the air</li>
 <li>air, ground and joint movement operations &ndash; to deploy, sustain and redeploy personnel and assets</li>
 <li>fixed base and field catering operations &ndash; to feed Air Force and ADF personnel</li>
 <li>materiel logistics support &ndash; to acquire, sustain and dispose of air and ground mission and support systems</li>
 <li>logistics capability planning, management and governance at Wing level and above, combined with future logistics capability development and logistics training.</li>
</ul>
This role can range from being a member of the executive team of a flying squadron, to being part of a unit that&rsquo;s required to set up airfield services at short notice anywhere in the world.

Play a key role in keeping the Air Force moving. Solve logistical challenges and manage and coordinate supplies required for Air Force exercises and operations.
