Join without qualifications
There are many excellent career options in the ADF that generally don&rsquo;t require experience or qualifications. You&rsquo;ll receive all the training you need and be paid while you train.

You'll be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

In the Air Force you'll be paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications.

General Entry: Non-technical

Throughout your career, you'll complete additional training and participate in health-related activities, courses, leadership training and military exercises to ensure you can operate in a variety of environments, are prepared for a wide range of patient types and can work throughout the continuum of care.

As a Medic, you’ll work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team to provide medical support to a range of domestic, regional and global Air Force and ADF operations. You’ll play a key role in promoting health and well-being, treating injury and illness and performing on-going care and support to patients during recovery.

You'll work in health centres on Air Force bases, mobile treatment facilities when deployed, ADF aircraft when evacuating casualties or occasionally within civilian hospitals. You'll work alongside other registered health practitioners with varying levels of supervision, to ensure that ADF personnel and civilians have an appropriate level of health care when needed.

Provide medical support to operations in Australia and overseas, carrying out duties that include general nursing and organising aeromedical evacuations from disaster zones.
