Receive nationally recognised trade training
Join the ADF and learn a trade. You&rsquo;ll receive all the training you need, be paid while you train and can earn industry-recognised qualifications. 
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those seeking nationally recognised trade training to undertake hands-on tasks.

You'll be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

In the Army you'll be paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications.

General Entry: Technical

On completion of your IET and OJT, you&rsquo;ll be awarded a Certificate III in Electrical Fitting and a Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Throughout your career, you&rsquo;ll also have opportunities to develop your skills with further specialist training.

As an Electrical Technician, you’ll play an important role in the Army, working with other skilled technicians to keep Army electrical equipment in peak working order. If you don’t have a qualification, you’ll be paid to learn while working in a variety of different environments.

Working with highly trained Army technicians, either in the workshop or out in the field, you’ll service and repair a variety of equipment and appliances, including refrigeration and air conditioning systems, vehicle electrics, generators and portable electronics. You’ll participate in Army training exercises, and could be deployed to assist with disaster relief, humanitarian missions and Army operations.

Keep a wide range of Army electrical equipment operational, including air con units, generators and vehicle electrics, in a role that will draw on your technical abilities.
