Receive nationally recognised trade training
Join the ADF and learn a trade. You&rsquo;ll receive all the training you need, be paid while you train and can earn industry-recognised qualifications. 
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those seeking nationally recognised trade training to undertake hands-on tasks.

You'll be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

As a Fitter Armament, you‘ll apply your skills in the workshop, out in the field on domestic exercises, deployments and humanitarian operations. You’ll diagnose, maintain and repair Army weapons and weapons systems, including pistols, rifles and grenade launchers, armoured vehicle armament systems, artillery platforms and helicopter-mounted weapons systems.

You’ll inspect, repair, modify and recondition a wide range of military weapon systems and equipment including pistols, semi-automatic and fully automatic weapons, grenade launchers and anti-armour weapons. You'll also use welding and machining skills, and inspect and repair a wide variety of equipment, from small engines to pressurised systems such as fuel delivery equipment.

Apply your fitter skills to inspecting, repairing and reconditioning military hardware such as pistols, machine guns, rifles, armoured vehicles, watercraft and diving equipment.
