Become an officer with your existing degree
If you have a recognised degree in a field such as Medicine, Law, Dentistry, Nursing, Engineering, Business or IT, you can apply for an officer role through Graduate Entry. Whether you're a recent graduate or in a career, you&rsquo;ll receive further training and postgraduate study opportunities in the ADF.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those who already have a recognised degree and want to receive further training and postgraduate study opportunities. You&rsquo;ll pursue your profession as an officer and add an exciting new dimension to your work.

You'll be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

In the Army you'll be paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications.

Officer Entry: Graduate

Become an officer while you continue your studies
Whether you're a recent graduate or have started your career, you&rsquo;ll receive further training and postgraduate study opportunities in the ADF. 
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those already studying a relevant postgraduate degree (or in some cases, those who have accepted a postgraduate offer) at an Australian university. You&rsquo;ll earn a salary while you study and have the remainder of your university fees paid in return for a commitment to an officer role.

You'll be paid while you study. On completion of your degree, Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you'll earn at least:

As a Psychologist, your skills and understanding of human behaviour will be highly valued across a wide range of defence contexts including mental health settings, recruitment and selection, training and human factors, organisational systems, and testing and measurement. 

With new initiatives in resilience and human performance offering opportunities for psychologists to develop expertise, the ADF’s demand for psychologists’ skills continues to grow.

You’ll draw on an ever-expanding body of scientific knowledge about how people think, act and feel and then apply that information to the area of military psychology. You may deploy as part of a psychology team, providing support to deployed ADF members and assisting Commanders, to ensure the mental health of the Army is functioning at a high level to achieve operational success. 

You’ll provide a flexible and responsive psychology capability that can be deployed at short notice to anywhere in the world. These deployments provide psychological services from military missions to community support.

Challenge yourself and utilise your skills as a psychologist ranging from providing advice to commanders to counselling and post-operational screening of ADF members.
