Officers will serve in fleet units and shore establishments around Australia and the world. Individual preferences for posting location will be taken into account where possible.

You will be paid while you study. On completion of your degree, Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you'll earn at least:

In the Navy you'll get paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications; and your pay increases as you progress through training. In addition to your salary you'll receive a variety of allowances, extra pay for relevant qualifications – plus 16.4% superannuation, a far higher rate than you're likely to find in the civilian world.

Be responsible for the logistic coordination of all materials and personnel onboard the ship. 
Whether you have recently finished school, currently studying, already in the workforce or you have no experience at all, you'll be paid from day one. You'll gain all the skills needed with extensive on-the-job training.
As a Logistics Officer (known in the Navy as Maritime Logistics Officer), you are responsible and accountable for the ship&rsquo;s personnel and the delivery of all logistic support functions required by the ship, to sustain a high level of capability and operational readiness.
Your duties at sea will see you being responsible for the supply of spare parts for maintenance, port visit planning and replenishment, financial management, management of catering and hospitality services, business management of all logistic support functions (material and personnel) and keeping Command up to date on resource sustainability. 
Working ashore, you could be employed in several areas such as operational logistics and planning (national and international), project management for major capabilities, business management, logistics strategy and policy, training and career management.

Your duties include, but aren&rsquo;t limited to:

 <li> Port visit planning and replenishment</li>
 <li> Managing catering and hospitality services</li>
 <li> Financial management</li>
 <li> Analysing resources</li>
 <li> Providing advice to Command on resource sustainability and logistics requirements</li>
 <li> Operational logistics and planning (national and international)</li>
 <li> Logistics strategy and policy</li>
 <li> Training and career management</li>
 <li>Logistics and operations planning</li>
 <li>Supply chain and inventory management</li>
 <li>	Coordination of stores warehousing, movements and distribution</li>
 <li>	Liaison with other services, militaries and contractors</li>
 <li>	Logistics department governance and assurance</li>
 <li>	Providing maritime capability acquisition and sustainment</li>
</ul>
On completion of your initial employment training you have the opportunity to be operationally deployed on a range of deployments and posted to overseas locations as logistics advisors and liaisons for Australia working with other services, militaries and civilian and government agencies. 
As an officer, you'll learn the fundamentals of being a leader, mentorship, decision making, problem solving, personnel management and much more to effectively lead a team of highly capable, logistically qualified, sailors in new and exciting environments around Australia and the world.
