Join without qualifications
There are many excellent career options in the ADF that generally don&rsquo;t require experience or qualifications. You&rsquo;ll receive all the training you need and be paid while you train.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those seeking general roles and career opportunities.

You'll be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

Trained

Your salary once trained

In the Navy you'll be paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications.

General Entry: Non-technical

You’ll also have the opportunity to complete further job specific and career development training throughout your career. Attendance at these courses will be programmed on an ‘as required' basis.

As a Photographer – Imagery Specialist you’ll visually and audibly promote the Navy’s amazing stories and activities in this diverse and varied role. 

You’ll capture, process and promote visual and audio material to support the Navy’s wider efforts and activities to protect Australia’s national assets and interests – domestically and internationally.

Using industry leading equipment, you’ll photograph, film and process the Navy’s wide and impressive capability – all through the lens of a camera. You may work independently or as part of a Military Camera Team where you’ll capture the action on a range of exercises and scenarios both at home and overseas. 

Throughout your career, you’ll learn new photographic and video techniques. You’ll develop new skills and knowledge to become an expert in multimedia content creation and editing.

Live a story worth telling while capturing and promoting the amazing stories of your ADF teammates, using industry leading cameras and video equipment.
