All Sailors will serve in fleet units and shore establishments on a rotational basis.

You will be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

In the Navy you'll get paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications; and your pay increases as you progress through training. In addition to your salary you'll receive a variety of allowances, extra pay for relevant qualifications – plus 16.4% superannuation, a far higher rate than you're likely to find in the civilian world.

General Entry: Non-Technical

Sailors can be selected to undertake advanced training courses later in their career. These courses can include, but are not limited to management courses and category specialisation courses for promotion.

Specialise in inventory and warehouse management both ashore and on major ships keeping stock replenished and available for the team.
Whether you have recently finished school, currently studying, already in the workforce or you have no experience at all, you'll be paid from day one. You'll gain all the skills needed with extensive on-the-job training and receive nationally accredited forklift training. 
As a Warehouse Storeperson (known in the Navy as Maritime Logistics Supply Chain), you&rsquo;ll ensure necessary supplies, equipment, part-replacements and crew provisions get to where they need to be. 
Your day can range from providing essential equipment for your fellow sailors to assisting communities in need through the delivery of critical supplies for humanitarian aid or disaster relief.
Your duties include, but aren&rsquo;t limited to:
<ul>
 <li>Issuing equipment and machinery, including electronic, medical, clothing, furniture and hardware</li>
 <li>Forklift driving</li>
 <li>Handling, storing and distributing dangerous and hazardous goods </li>
 <li>Storeroom duties, including security, delivery and maintenance</li>
 <li>Humanitarian aid and disaster relief</li>
 <li>Maintaining stock control and account balances on inventory management systems</li>
 <li>Preserving and stowing equipment and products</li>
 <li>Stocktaking</li>
 <li>Clerical duties and data entry</li>
 <li>Financial accounting of inventory</li>
 <li>Purchasing products</li>
</ul>
As a sailor, you'll perform additional duties and learn more skills to become highly trained and efficient in supporting the whole ship. This may include ship security, firefighting, flood repair, line handling, first aid, flight deck duties, replenishment at sea, medical emergency team member, ammunitioning or ceremonial duties.
