Eligibility Checklist

Use your specialisation and become a leader in your field
If you&rsquo;re already qualified in healthcare, finance, law, chaplaincy, management, aviation, engineering or education, you can join the ADF part-time as a Specialist Reserve.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those who are a specialist in specific fields.

This entry method is currently not recruiting.

You'll be paid to train and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you’ll earn a tax-free daily rate of at least:

Trained

Your daily rate once trained

The pay you receive in the Air Force Reserve goes straight into your pocket with no deductions for tax.

Officer Entry: Specialist Reserve

You’ll have the opportunity to complete additional training including youth safety, critical incidents, moral injury, key religious leaders and community engagement. 
The Defence Force Chaplaincy College (DFCC) provides ongoing training to prepare you for varying roles and increased responsibilities. There are currently 2 Chaplaincy career progression courses available. These are:

<li>ADF Coordinating Chaplaincy Course for Chaplains posted into coordinating roles </li>
<li>ADF Senior Chaplaincy Course for Chaplains posted into senior leadership roles.</li>
</ul>
