Use your specialisation and become a leader in your field
If you&rsquo;re already qualified in healthcare, finance, law, chaplaincy, management, aviation, engineering or education, you can join the ADF part-time as a Specialist Reserve.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those who are a specialist in specific fields.

This entry method is currently not recruiting.

You'll be paid to train and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you’ll earn a tax-free daily rate of at least:

Training

Your daily rate while training

Trained

Your daily rate once trained

The pay you receive in the Air Force Reserve goes straight into your pocket with no deductions for tax.

Officer Entry: Specialist Reserve

Other courses may be required depending upon your specialist role.

As a part-time Pharmacist, you’ll be employed as both a logistician and clinician. It is a unique Air Force role including health logistics, planning and administration, along with more traditional elements of community (and occasionally hospital) pharmacy practice. 

If you’re looking to experience adventure and excitement outside the everyday, earn tax-free pay and work as part of a close-knit team, this is an exciting opportunity that can work around your lifestyle.

You’ll enjoy varied work experience providing pharmacy services and professional advice, developing medication policies and instructing on health training programs.

You'll also manage the resourcing and deployment of temporary medical facilities in support of remote exercises and operations. In time, you may have the opportunity to travel and practice in an operationally deployed role.

Become an integral member of the ADF healthcare team in this part-time role, providing a range of pharmaceutical and health logistics services supporting exercises and operations.
