Join without qualifications
There are many excellent career options in the ADF that don&rsquo;t require experience or qualifications. You&rsquo;ll receive all the training you need and be paid while you train.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those wanting a part-time role that doesn&rsquo;t require previous experience.

You'll be paid to train and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you’ll earn a tax-free daily rate of at least:

The pay you receive in the Army Reserve goes straight into your pocket with no deductions for tax.

As a part-time Artillery Observer, you’ll direct powerful artillery fire and air actions onto enemy positions using state-of-the-art equipment. 

If you’re looking to experience adventure and excitement outside the everyday, earn tax-free pay and work as part of a close-knit team, it's an exciting opportunity that can work around your lifestyle.

You'll use high-tech equipment to identify, locate and communicate threats to the Army’s combat teams. You'll learn how to identify and engage enemy targets in partnership with Australian and Coalition joint fire assets. This means you’ll see the effects of artillery up close, both in simulated and real environments. 

You’ll develop skills in navigation systems, communications and advanced first aid. You’ll gain experience through operating in a variety of locations as well as participating in regular field trips and exercises to hone your skills. There, you can expect to maintain your weapons handling skills, plan for exercises and keep up your training. In larger training exercises, you may get to drive cross-country vehicles and use laser, GPS and camouflaging equipment.

Be the eyes and the ears of the battlefield in this adventure packed part-time role. Use high-tech equipment to locate enemy targets and gather battlespace intelligence.
