You will be paid to train and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you’ll earn a tax-free daily rate of at least:

If you want to use your existing skillsets while experiencing adventure outside the ordinary, the Army Reserve has an exciting opportunity for you. 
As a part-time Chef in the Army Reserve, you&rsquo;ll work alongside fellow cooks to provide and support the dietary needs of soldiers. You&rsquo;ll get to apply your skills to create food that sustains the Army&rsquo;s optimal cognitive and physical human performance, all while adding the challenge of a military experience to your everyday role.
Working in a team environment, you&rsquo;ll be responsible for the following:

 <li>Prepare, cook and package complete meals</li>
 <li>Cook a variety of dishes, such as soups, entrees, mains and desserts</li>
 <li>Learn the process of bulk cookery</li>
 <li>Prepare meals in specialised field and commercial kitchens</li>
 <li>Cook at important functions and VIP events</li>
</ul>
On reserve parade nights, you can expect to refine your culinary skills, test your technical skills and maintain your soldiering training.
In larger training exercising, you&rsquo;ll be able to aid your team by managing staff, conducting on the job training and logistic planning in support of operational catering both domestically and whilst on operations.
This is a great opportunity to work with likeminded people and gain specialised training to take back to your current full-time career. As well as being able to step outside of your comfort zone &ndash; without having to compromise your lifestyle in this flexible part-time role.
Just give as little as one night a week, one weekend a month or a few weeks a year &ndash; and you&rsquo;ll get a world of new experiences back.
