Join without qualifications
There are many excellent career options in the ADF that don&rsquo;t require experience or qualifications. You&rsquo;ll receive all the training you need and be paid while you train.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those wanting a part-time role that doesn&rsquo;t require previous experience.

You'll be paid to train and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you’ll earn a tax-free daily rate of at least:

The pay you receive in the Army Reserve goes straight into your pocket with no deductions for tax.

As a part-time Combat Engineer, you’ll conduct the complex, challenging and rewarding tasks that allow military forces to move, live and fight. You’ll undertake a broad range of tasks including bridge-building, clearing explosive hazards, creating obstacles, demolitions, and operating small boats. You’ll also conduct basic construction tasks and win resources. 

If you’re looking to experience adventure and excitement outside the everyday, earn tax-free pay and work as part of a close-knit team, it's an exciting opportunity that can work around your lifestyle.

You’ll be taught a wide range of tactical and technical skills, becoming able to wield a chainsaw, build a bridge, clear a minefield, build a road or airfield and use explosives to demolish a target. You’ll also maintain a secondary role as infantry and operate a range of equipment to achieve your tasks.
