Receive nationally recognised trade training
Join the ADF and use your existing trade skills in a unique military environment.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those with a nationally recognised trade seeking to undertake hands-on tasks.

You'll be paid to train and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you’ll earn a tax-free daily rate of at least:

The pay you receive in the Army Reserve goes straight into your pocket with no deductions for tax.

General Entry: Technical Reserve

Further video and also leadership and management courses are available as you progress in your career. These include the Intermediate Video Course (4 weeks) and the Senior Imagery Specialist Course (3 weeks).

As an Imagery Specialist in the Army Reserve, you&rsquo;ll put your photography training and expertise to use capturing inspiring stills and video of the ADF in action. You&rsquo;ll travel, taste adventure and make lifelong mates in this creative and flexible part-time role.

You&rsquo;ll play an important role in telling compelling stories about the ADF. When you meet with your unit, you&rsquo;ll refine your skills, plan upcoming shoots and keep up your soldier training. When you&rsquo;re on exercises or deployed with the Army, your job will be to capture newsworthy images and video that support the Army&rsquo;s communications objectives. It&rsquo;s a great opportunity to broaden your skills and experience in a rewarding role.
