If you're a driven and ambitious individual, the ADF will teach you to lead teams, mentor others and manage complex scenarios as an officer. As long as you&rsquo;re a school leaver who has passed Year 12, you can join, learn to lead and mentor others.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Year 12 graduates or qualified professionals.

You'll be paid to train and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you’ll earn a tax-free daily rate of at least:

As a part-time Ordnance Officer, you’ll be an expert in logistic management techniques and be able to apply your skills to managing the Army's distribution network. You'll be in high demand with senior commanders because of your in-depth knowledge of the distribution network and your all-round knowledge of the ongoing logistic requirements. You’ll also be competent in tactics and staff work. 

This meaningful role is part of the <a href="/careers/joining/pathways?page-tab=army ">Army Officer – Command career pathway</a>, where you’ll learn the fundamentals of being a leader to a team of soldiers, including mentorship, influence, problem solving, decision making and much more. No leadership experience is required, and you’ll be allocated to your specific role before you graduate from training.

This is an Army Officer – Command Pathway role. This means you'll enter the Army to be trained as a General Service Officer. You’ll receive world-class training that will build you from the ground up to command, lead and manage across a broad spectrum of environments within the Army and within a specialisation.

The area of your specialisation will depend on your preference, performance and position availability. Within your first posting out of training, you’ll apply these skills and likely lead a team of highly trained soldiers. As you progress in your career, you’ll be exposed to development opportunities across a range of postings to prepare you for your next leadership roles.

Army Officer – Command career pathways

You may provide a vast array of supplies and stores for equipment (such as tanks, watercraft, aircraft and vehicles of all kinds), guided missiles, guns, ammunition, parachutes, communication equipment, construction materials for building bridges and roads as well as other tools and machinery. You'll also provide fuel, clothing, food and medical and dental supplies required to equip and maintain Army units during training and combat operations.

Play a key management role tackling major logistical challenges on a part-time basis as a specialist in supply chain management, warehousing and contingency management.
