<div class="p" >On appointment as a Pharmacist you will usually be posted to an Army health unit, primarily in Adelaide, Brisbane, Townsville and Darwin. Other areas of initial employment may include Detachments on HMAS <em>Canberra </em>or HMAS <em>Adelaide </em>and Medical Supply Depots.</div>
<p>You could expect to remain in this posting for one to four years.

You will be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

Trained

Your salary once trained

In the Army you'll get paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications; and your pay increases as you progress through training.<br><br>In addition to your salary you'll receive a variety of allowances, extra pay for relevant qualifications – plus 16.4% superannuation, a far higher rate than you're likely to find in the civilian world.

Officer Entry: Graduate

<p>A career as a Pharmacist offers variety and challenges in employment and travel not always available in the normal hospital or pharmacy environment. You will gain experience and skills that will be in high demand in your profession.</p>

<p>The Australian Army employs qualified and registered Pharmacists providing a wide variety of employment opportunities that involve leadership, management, and professional skills. These officers are members of the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps (RAAMC).</p>
<p>As a member of a multi-disciplinary clinical team with a field hospital Pharmacist roles include dispensary duties; supervision of pharmaceutical accounts; ordering and stock policy management of pharmaceuticals; as well as management of medical equipment and related consumables as a medical logistician.  But there is much more to being an Officer in the Army &ndash; you will also have management and leadership responsibilities to fulfill. The Army will provide you with the required training to be able to fulfill these roles.</p>
<div class="p" >As an Army Pharmacist (full time) you may also be posted with other Army allied health personnel to work on board the Royal Australian Navy ships HMAS <em>Canberra </em>or HMAS <em>Adelaide</em>. Your responsibilities would be similar to a shore based health clinic, but would have the added diversity of experiences at sea.</div>

Manage dispensary services, stock control, equipment and consumables in this pharmacy role with a difference, operating in well-resourced clinics and field hospitals.
