Eligibility Checklist

Become an officer with your existing degree
If you have a recognised degree in a field such as Medicine, Law, Dentistry, Nursing, Engineering, Business or IT, you can apply for an officer role through Graduate Entry. Whether you're a recent graduate or in a career, you&rsquo;ll receive further training and postgraduate study opportunities in the ADF.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those who already have a recognised degree and want to receive further training and postgraduate study opportunities. You&rsquo;ll pursue your profession as an officer and add an exciting new dimension to your work.

This entry method is currently not recruiting.

You'll be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

Trained

Your salary once trained

In the Army you'll be paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications.

Officer Entry: Graduate

You may be selected to attend civilian seminars to keep up to date in all aspects of public relations, media and journalism.
In addition to your Initial Employment Training, you may have to complete the following courses once you&rsquo;re posted to your unit:

 <li>Course: Unit Public Affairs Officer Course (UPAO)</li>
 <li>Course: Joint Warfighting &ndash; Planning Foundations Course 113979</li>
 <li>Course: Social Media Practitioners Course.</li>
</ul>

As a member of the Australian Army Public Relations Office, you&rsquo;ll become part of a small but dynamic team of public affairs specialists supporting the Army.

You'll play a critical role to support Army activities, undertaking a broad spectrum of public affairs functions, including issues management, strategic development and media liaison.
During your career, you'll complete various postings throughout Australia, either in a formed public affairs unit, as a staff advisor on a formation headquarters or at Australian Defence Headquarters in Canberra.

Work in a specialised, dynamic team to develop, implement and monitor communication strategies that impact how the Army is perceived in the broader community.
