Become an officer with your existing degree
If you have a recognised degree in a field such as Medicine, Law, Dentistry, Nursing, Engineering, Business or IT, you can apply for an officer role through Graduate Entry. Whether you're a recent graduate or in a career, you&rsquo;ll receive further training and postgraduate study opportunities in the ADF.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those who already have a recognised degree and want to receive further training and postgraduate study opportunities. You&rsquo;ll pursue your profession as an officer and add an exciting new dimension to your work.

You'll be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

Trained

Your salary once trained

In the Navy you'll be paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications.

As a Media and Communications Officer, you’ll plan and coordinate activities for regional, domestic and internal audiences. Using traditional and social media, you’ll promote and protect the reputation of the Navy and the ADF.

You’ll use your written communication and media liaison skills to provide a broad range of public affairs functions for both the Navy and the ADF. You’ll provide strategic and operational communications advice to Commanding Officers and senior managers to assist with the handling of topical issues and be required to assist with promotion and media coverage of events to enhance the ADF’s image and reputation.

With further experience, you’ll contribute to the development and implementation of military public affairs plans. You may also deploy in joint operations to lead, direct and manage both Imagery Specialist sailors and Australian public servants.

Take on a dynamic public affairs role using your communication, writing and media liaison skills, while giving something back to your country.
