If you're a driven and ambitious individual, the ADF will teach you to lead teams, mentor others and manage complex scenarios as an officer. As long as you&rsquo;re a school leaver who has passed Year 12, you can join, learn to lead and mentor others.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Year 12 graduates or qualified professionals.

You'll be paid to train and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you’ll earn a tax-free daily rate of at least:

As a part-time Media and Communications Officer, you’ll plan and coordinate activities for regional, domestic and internal audiences. Using traditional and social media, you’ll promote and protect the reputation of the Navy and the ADF.

You’ll use your written communication and media liaison skills to provide a broad range of public affairs functions for both the Navy and the ADF. You’ll provide strategic and operational communications advice to Commanding Officers and senior managers to assist with the handling of topical issues and may be required to assist with promotion and media coverage of events to enhance the ADF’s image and reputation. 

With further experience, you’ll contribute to the development and implementation of military public affairs plans. You may also deploy in joint operations to lead, direct and manage both Imagery Specialist sailors and Australian Public Servants.
