<p>Air Force Specialist Reserve Nurses may be recruited from any location within Australia. You will be posted to either a Joint Health or an Air Force Health Services Wing for duty.</p>

You will be paid to train and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you’ll earn a tax-free daily rate of at least:

<p>You&rsquo;ve chosen a career in nursing for its unique rewards and job satisfaction. Now imagine gaining additional experience as a part-time Nurse in the Air Force Specialist Reserve, looking after the varied medical needs of service personnel, helping communities in Australia and overseas, or managing global aeromedical evacuations.</p>
<div class="p"><strong>What you&rsquo;ll do</strong></div>
<p>Nurses provide the highest standards of patient care and lead teams in a variety of environments. As a Nurse in the Air Force Specialist Reserve, you&rsquo;ll be an integral part of the Defence Health System. </p>
<p>You&rsquo;ll provide specialist aviation nursing and healthcare to ADF personnel in deployed and non-deployed environments. When called upon, you may also be required to assist communities in need both within Australia and overseas.</p>
<p>No two days are the same in this exciting and varied role, as one day you could be providing perioperative care in modern medical facilities, and the next attending to earthquake injuries in a remote location. However, your initiative and flexibility will allow you to adapt to the dynamics of remote localities, new conditions, and other challenges.</p>
<p>In addition to fulfilling a management and leadership role as an Officer in the Air Force, you will carry out general nursing duties at hospitals and clinics, gaining valuable primary healthcare skills. </p>
<p>Duties and posting opportunities currently exist in the following areas/specialisations:</p>
<ul>
    <li>Perioperative Nursing (Peri-anaesthetic, Post-anaesthetic care, Circulating and Instrument) - Perioperative nurses are an integral part of the Air Force&rsquo;s deployable surgical capability.</li>
    <li>Intensive Care / Critical Care Nursing &ndash; Intensive Care Nurses work primarily on the ground within an Intensive Care Unit or as part of a specialist critical care aeromedical team.</li>
    <li>Emergency Nursing &ndash; Emergency Nurses primarily work in a resuscitation team on the ground or as part of a specialist critical care aeromedical team.
    </li>
    <li>Opportunities also exist within Infectious Disease Nursing.</li>
