The Australian Army employs male and female qualified physiotherapists in Army health units and Joint Health Command garrison medical centres. These officers form part of the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps (RAAMC).
Main Job Functions:
During your service you can expect a variety of employments which may include:
<ul>
 <li>Physiotherapy duties in a static deployed hospital caring for pre and post operative cases</li>
 <li>Physiotherapy of wounded and injured patients in a field hospital</li>
 <li>Rehabilitation support to patients after extensive surgery or illness</li>
 <li>Working with physical training instructors (PTIs) to support patient rehabilitation and conditioning</li>
 <li>Sports medicine physiotherapy, (ie sports injuries management and prevention), to units and Army sports and</li>
 <li>Depending on postings, some physiotherapists may deploy with their units to remote and austere areas</li>
</ul>
